Looking for something special and something new, I with what seemed like 1000s of other mums, went off to the Pregnancy Babies and Childrens Expo at South Bank this weekend. There were some lovely things on offer like the cute onesies from Finlee & Me which I of course had to pick up for our little boy who has not arrived just as yet, plus it’s good to support other mums in business J
There was certainly a LOT of big business brands there, which I don’t remember being quite so dominant when I went the first time 3 years ago and noticeably there seems to be a booming business in natural or cloth nappies if the number of these stands was anything to go by?
Now I won’t say what I really felt about the maternity and breastfeeding wear on offer because that may bring some bad karma my way but I will say that I felt so proud and absolutely fell in love all over again with my beautiful collection of Melke breastfeeding dresses and tops! Being 36 weeks pregnant I’m not feeling all that glamorous at the moment but I received 7 separate compliments on how lovely my dress was and how nice it was to see a pregnant lady in a beautiful dress with frills no less! Four people even asked if it was Liberty of London fabric (which it is of course) and well let’s just say if you know Liberty you know what that means. I still can’t believe the worldwide cult following the brand has!
So it was a great weekend to reinvigorate the soul, emerge myself in all things baby and toddler and be reminded in person, by strangers, how great our breastfeeding and maternity clothing is – I can’t wait for Melke Spring Summer 11 -12!
